Cynthia Prodzinski, MA, LMHC, ATR
Do you feel anxious about therapy? I offer professional, yet personable, compassionate, Integrative Psychotherapy with a Trauma Informed Care perspective, asking what happened to you, not what's wrong with you. I utilize a variety of strategies and concepts to meet you where you are. I trained with Marsha Linehan, PhD in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and integrate this into treatment when helpful. I have extensive training in trauma therapy as well. I often use art therapy as symbolic expression of experience, engaging the brain and senses to process fully. If you have difficulty verbalizing your experience, perhaps nonverbal modalities would be helpful.
Empathy and a nonjudgmental approach is my primary focus; trust and sense of safety within the therapy relationship is essential, especially for survivors of trauma. For children, Directive and Non-Directive Play Therapy is offered so their experience is expressed and processed through play and metaphor. Toys are children's words; play is their language!
I invite you for a free consult. See, hear, and feel what your therapy experience could be like in a safe, though appropriately challenging, therapeutic relationship. You are NOT required to do art therapy - your choices are highly respected. I have nearly 25 years experience with people of all ages, 5 and older, and a wide variety of mental health issues.
