chrysaliscounselingic@gmail.com Cynthia is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and nationally Registered Art Therapist, who is trained extensively in trauma recovery, including complex trauma, and in using expressive arts with an Trauma Informed approach. She also trained with Marsha Linehan, PhD, in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and incorporates this into her work with many clients, using it as a primary focus when needed. Cynthia believes in meeting clients where they are, and working with them collaboratively to support, teach, and guide them through their process of healing and growth. She is very integrative in her therapeutic style, incorporating herbal and nutritional suggestions for treating some conditions, bilateral processing, art therapy, mindfulness, self regulation techniques, and person-centered psychotherapy. Cynthia has 25 years' experience counseling people of all ages and genders starting at age 5. She has completed training in Adlerian Play Therapy at The Encouragement Zone with Terry Kottman, PhD, and has much additional training in play therapy through conferences and supervision over the years. She also trained in Sandplay therapy for adults, the original archetypal approach to Sandtray work, though uses Sandtray play therapy as well with children. Cynthia has completed the Safe Zone training and has worked with people of all gender orientations and identifications. Her office is a safe, respectful, and compassionate space for everyone.
