Susannah Neal is a Licensed and Nationally Board Certified Acupuncturist, Certified Advanced Practitioner of the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage (ATMAT), a Reiki Master-Teacher, and a trained Yoga Instructor. She graduated from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Denver, Colorado) in 1999 and has 20 years clinical experience. She has studied multiple forms of acupuncture and Asian bodywork including Qi Gong, Tung style acupuncture, and Chi Nei Tsang. She holds a master’s degree in medical anthropology from the University of Florida. She was the Campus Director of the Southwest Acupuncture College Boulder Campus for two years and  the clinic leader for a Cross Cultural Healing Exchange in Peru sponsored by the Paititi Institute in 2015.

Susannah began her study of the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage (ATMAT) with Dr. Rosita Arvigo in 2003 and was certified in 2005. Susannah traveled to Belize for her training and was fortunate to have studied with renowned midwife Miss Hortense Robinson. Susannah has been integrating ATMAT into her acupuncture practice for women’s health for over 15 years and is a certified Advanced Practitioner for Pregnancy.

In her practice, Susannah offers clients the opportunity to individualize their treatment to best serve their needs. She understands that while some people seek acupuncture, others prefer non-needle options such as acupressure. It is her pleasure to offer Acupuncture, ATMAT, and also her signature Acupressure/Reiki Integrative Bodywork. She welcomes both men and women to her practice and is able to assist with a variety of conditions including women’s health, pain, digestive disorders, and chronic illness. When working with fertility clients she offers treatment for reproductive disorders, enhancing IVF procedures, and support during pregnancy and post-partum.

Susannah maintains an active yoga and meditation practice and enjoys her free time traveling,  walking her dog, and visiting her friends and family. She and her husband have been married for 27 years and lived in Colorado for 20 years, Lawrence Kansas for 4 years, and moved to Iowa City in 2017.
